Year 5 Space Workshop
On Monday 19th January, Year 5 enjoyed an exciting and immersive space workshop led by Jo from Space Detectives. The children learned how the Solar System was formed and took part in hands-on activities, including making planets move in orbit.
One of the highlights was creating a human solar system, helping pupils understand scale and movement in space, before drawing a pocket-sized Solar System to scale. Along the way, they discovered fascinating facts - including that Venus spins upside down and Uranus rolls on its side through the Solar System.
The session was engaging, informative and inspired a real excitement for science and space!
