ONE WORLD WEEK! Drahonflies have experienced what is is like to live in another country where children do not have access to clean water. They were set a water challenge using small cups and had to walk through an obstacle course before filling the jug ready for a drink. Tim from Wessex Water shared a water filtering workshop where they learned the process of cleaning water. They also experienced life in Swaziland where children might have only one pencil to share or nothing to write on. They discussed how different their lives were to a girl who lived in Bangladesh and they enjoyed creating Henna hands ready for a festival. A busy week but great learning !

Dragonflies took part in the intra-school football today and had an amazing time! Thank you Mr Scammells!

The children presented 'All about the Stone Age' in assembly today and shared their fantastic axes, jewellery, clothing and stories with the whole school. I am super proud of them all!

We all had an amazing day at Bath & West today despite the pouring weather! We learned all about dairy produce and we tasted cheese and milk. We made our own cheese by shaking milk in a container. We met some chickens, piglets, cows and sheep (one was sheared and we felt soft the fleece). Some of us made our own wool from the fleece! We ate pigeon and venison which was delicious and we learned all about how meat is prepared in a butchers. We watched how bees make honey and tasted it too. We also learned how to make bread at the bakery. What a busy day!

Pete the Poet entertained the children today with his fantastic poems, rhymes, puppets, musical instruments and dressing up outfits. The children discussed how they are all special and unique as well as learning about refugees.

Science - We explored our forest school area for plants and weeds that we could dig up. We looked carefully at the roots, the stem and the leaves as we sketched our findings.

Happy World Book Day from Dragonfly Class!

We walked to the Yeovil Library this morning to see our Antoni Gaudi display. We looked at all the books and sat and read to each other. Then Mrs Bredow read us a story before we walked back to school. We had an amazing time!

We were visited today by two dental nurses who told us how to look after our teeth and gums properly. The showed us how to brush carefully. Did you know you should clean your teeth for 2 minutes twice a day?

Science - We met some amazing and well behaved animals today that came all the way from Crealy. We learned all about Bearded Dragons, Stick Insects, a Royal Python Snake and Ferrets!
