This is where parents select their child’s first school at aged 4 or 5. Parents need to apply by the January of the year their child should start school and should receive a letter directly from the County Council (The Local Authority) by the end of the preceding September providing information on how to apply for a first school place.

Oaklands is a Local Authority managed mainstream school therefore the LA will deal directly with all first place admissions to Oaklands.
We hold open days in the autumn term (prior to the September that your child is due to start) and these dates are published on our website and sent to local nurseries and playgroups. This gives parents the opportunity to visit the school and ask questions prior to making their school selection.
