One World Week
School in a Bag
This morning, we had a workshop from Lis at School in a Bag. She told us all about the work the charity does: what is in a bag; the countries the bags are sent to; why children around the world need a bag and how we can get involved. This has started our work looking at education around the world as part of 'One World Week'. We are learning about how education can be very different depending on where you live in the world.
We had an engaging talk this morning by Karen, who works at Carymoor Environmental Trust, about Food Waste. We thought about the life of a banana and how many resources it takes to grow a single banana. We also sorted different food items in terms of wasteful packaging. Now, our challenge is to improve one item in our own lunch boxes.
We had a lovely time this morning completing different activities as it was Red Nose Day. We all decorated a cup cake and made a cake box to take it home in. As well as this, we had fun making a joke book and competing against each other in a class quiz.
