3DR had a fabulous day out at Stonehenge learning all about the Stone Age. They spent some time in the Neolithic houses, built Stonehenge using bricks and dressed up as Stone Age people. They also enjoyed walking in the sunshine looking at the henge and had a go at sketching it!

The children were brilliant today on our research trip to Preston Park. They all completed a questionnaire about the park equipment and then enjoyed using it to find out what was their favourite. Watch this space to see their DT Park projects!
In preparation for our History topic on the Stone Age, the children were challenged over half term to create some Stone Age items. I think you'll agree they have done very well in making their own axes, jewellery and even a bow and arrow! Well done!
In Science, Dragonflies have been learning about light sources, reflection, how light travels in straight lines as well as how shadows are formed. Today the children enjoyed using their shadow puppets to make a movie!
Year 3 enjoyed a day out at the 'Field to Fork Learning Day' at Bath & West. The children made butter by hand, taste tested cheese, milk and honey, milked a (pretend) cow, met some cute 8 week old piglets, watched a sheep being sheared, planted salad leaf seeds, visited a butchers and a bakers and explored farm machinery! What a day!
3DR conducted a Science experiment to see how surfaces creates friction. The children measured the distance that a car would move after being released down a ramp onto different surfaces.
As part of our Geography topic this term, Dragonflies enjoyed exploring the local area of Ninesprings. They learned how to build a den, sketched the wildlife and went on a trail to look for birds and other creatures. At the end of the trail we found a fairy hide away!
British Science week in 3DR! The children became explorers today and worked as a team to observe and predict the quickest way to free some treasure from ice.
In Art, the children have been learning about Wassily Kandinski. Today they colour mixed paints to learn what new colours they could create!
Multi-cultural week - 3DR learned about Australia and Aboriginal art. The children used pointillism (dotting) to replicate some Australian creatures using paint and cotton buds.
Nutty Noah visited Dragonflies this week and entertained us with lots of silly tricks!! We had a hilarious time!
3DR were excited to see the arrival of the Wildcat helicopter from 825 squadron, Yeovilton today where they collected the children's letters for Santa! We hope they arrive safely!

Dragonflies enjoyed the Cinema experience with Ducks at Cineworld today. First, we strolled through Ninesprings on an Autumnal walk. Then we sat back and relaxed to watch The Nut Job 2 - Nutty by Nature. It was, "hilarious!"
Dragonflies have been discussing e-safety and how to stay safe online. The children have created an e-safety agreement which they wanted to share with you.
Year 3 enjoyed fossil hunting at Charmouth beach and learning about erosion.
Year 3 are taking part in the Golden Mile measurable running initiative in school. They braved the mist and fog to complete their laps over 4 minutes.
Dragonflies have been busy over the half term making 3D Volcanoes!
VOCklands has exploded! As part of their Geography topic, Dragonfly class performed an experiment to create a volcanic eruption.
Racism Workshop 12.9.17 - Dragonflies were visited by Dion who discussed racism. The children enjoyed an interactive discussion.
