18.3.19 Today during science we identified parts of a flower. We dissected the flower to identify features including the stamen, stigma, ovary, petals, pollen and sepal!

6.3.19 Today 3DU visited Yeovil Library to see our exhibition on Antoni Gaudi. We were very impressed and got to spend some lovely time reading! Thanks to Mrs Bredow and Miss Curtis who came with us 📚
28.2.19 This afternoon 3DU were visited by two dental nurses, who taught us all about dental health and gave us some helpful goody bags!
27.2.19 Today 3DU made some new friends! Animals from Crealy came with their keepers to say hello, including a stick insect, a snake, a bearded dragon and a couple of ferrets!
27.2.19 Today was our last dance lesson with Kerri. We danced using all of the styles we have learnt over the last five weeks!

4.2.19 This week in maths we are learning about money. We had a great lesson today finding all the different ways we could make an amount of money using different coins! 💷
30.1.19 Thank you to the PTA who donated money to 3DU who spent the money on some much needed wet play/snow day games! We had a great time trying them all out!

18.1.19 Today in PE we had a go doing different gymnastic poses. We had to work really hard with our partners to strike some of these poses-not all of them went to plan! 🙈
17.1.19 Today we started programming in ICT. During our first lesson, we each made our own adventure game on Purple Mash! We had a great time thinking about how our games will look, as well as making them as fun as possible. Have a go by logging onto Purple Mash!
16.1.19 Today was week 2 of dance lessons in year 3. This weeks lesson focussed on Bhangra dancing, which come s from India! 🇮🇳 as you can see we all tried our best and had a great time! Unfortunately the longer video is too large to upload but this clips gives you a snippet of what we were learning!
11.1.19 We had a great drama lesson this morning ahead of script writing next week, Learning to change the pitch and tone of our voices to portray different characters!
9.1.19 We have had a lovely morning learning about dance with Keri Hill Dance! Today we learnt about different dance styles including the Cha Cha! Soon we will be as good as the professional dancers on Strictly Come Dancing! 💃

26.11.18 Today Year 3 had a brilliant time at Charmouth Beach! We found out about the different fossils that have been found along the coast and had a go at finding our own!

23.11.18 Year 3 and 4 had a special visitor in the shape of Sam the paramedic who told us all about her job and how she got to where she is today. We asked some brilliant questions!

22.11.18 Today Duck Class had our first trip to Cineworld to watch ‘Mary and the Witches Flower’. We all did so well that we all got the Teachers Award on Friday!

5.11.18 This afternoon we started our Rocks and Soils topic. We explored outside, collecting soil samples. We put our samples into bottles and filled with water, and carefully shook the bottles to mix up the soil. Next time, we will analyse the soil types to identify the types of soil that we collected.
25.10.18 This afternoon Duck Class had a go at making Room on the Broom inspired Halloween pictures. Their challenge was to try and make the witch fly across the page! 🕸🕸🕸
24.10.18 Congratulations to Amelia, Bradley, Nicola and Oscar who are our 3DU award winnners for Autumn 1! Special well done to Oscar who also got the maths cup 😊
18.10.18 This afternoon Year 3 were joined by Cathy, a librarian from Yeovil Library. Children from 3DU presented information about Antoni Gaudi and his artwork, while children from 3DR tried to convince Cathy to allow our work to be displayed at the library. The afternoon was a great success, as Cathy had agreed that our work can be displayed at the library in the new year, to brighten up January for the people of Yeovil! A fantastic effort by all year three children. 😊
11.10.18 Today during computing we researched Antoni Gaudi as part of our art topic, in preparation for a special visitor next week! We researched using Safe Search and typed our research onto the iPads.
27.9.18 Also this week Duck Class have been looking at Autumn poetry. We wrote three different autumnal poems, using adjectives, verbs and similes. On Thursday we chose our favourite poem and practised reading them aloud in preparation for some of us reading them during our Harvest assembly. We also typed them up on iPads!
25.9.18 We had our first music lesson this week! We had a go on drums, xylophones, tambourines and glockenspiels. We tried playing along to a rhythm, and some of us had a go at being the composer of Duck Class Orchestra!
