9.11.18 Today we had our first gymnastics lesson with Mr. Scammells. As you can see it was a lot of fun!
9.11.18 Congratulations to these brilliant children who gained certificates for cross country and for getting 💯 percent in our first spelling test back.
8.11.18 We will remember them. From Duck Class
5.11.18 This afternoon we started our Rocks and Soils topic. We explored outside, collecting soil samples. We put our samples into bottles and filled with water, and carefully shook the bottles to mix up the soil. Next time, we will analyse the soil types to identify the types of soil that we collected.
25.10.18 This afternoon Duck Class had a go at making Room on the Broom inspired Halloween pictures. Their challenge was to try and make the witch fly across the page! 🕸🕸🕸
24.10.18 Congratulations to Amelia, Bradley, Nicola and Oscar who are our 3DU award winnners for Autumn 1! Special well done to Oscar who also got the maths cup 😊
18.10.18 This afternoon Year 3 were joined by Cathy, a librarian from Yeovil Library. Children from 3DU presented information about Antoni Gaudi and his artwork, while children from 3DR tried to convince Cathy to allow our work to be displayed at the library. The afternoon was a great success, as Cathy had agreed that our work can be displayed at the library in the new year, to brighten up January for the people of Yeovil! A fantastic effort by all year three children. 😊
11.10.18 Today during computing we researched Antoni Gaudi as part of our art topic, in preparation for a special visitor next week! We researched using Safe Search and typed our research onto the iPads.
27.9.18 Also this week Duck Class have been looking at Autumn poetry. We wrote three different autumnal poems, using adjectives, verbs and similes. On Thursday we chose our favourite poem and practised reading them aloud in preparation for some of us reading them during our Harvest assembly. We also typed them up on iPads!
25.9.18 We had our first music lesson this week! We had a go on drums, xylophones, tambourines and glockenspiels. We tried playing along to a rhythm, and some of us had a go at being the composer of Duck Class Orchestra!
