Badger class enjoyed a visit to Gore Farm today. When we arrived, we walked through muddy fields full of smelly cow pats, over a wooden bridge and found ourselves deep in a beautiful wood. Our topic this half term is map reading and we worked in small groups to solve orienteering and maths challenges. Working as a team, we made sure we read the map of the wood carefully so that we could find each marker. After we had solved the maths problem attached to the marker, we were able to use the clue to find the next marker on the map. After lunch, where we sat near a gobbling turkey and several honking geese, we went on a walk past the cow shed into one of the top fields. Our task was to identify trees by matching pictures to leaves. The whole day was absolutely fantastic and we all enjoyed the chance to learn in an outdoor, countryside environment.
