Our Year 2 children were treated to a performance by Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. BSO had previously worked with our Year 2 during fun workshops in school, and so they were thrilled to see the musicians in action on the big stage! 

Oaklands Primary School did themselves proud at this year's Primary Festival of Dance. The routine that the children performed was incredible, and left the audience spellbound. Well done to all involved. Your dedication and hard work really paid off!

Year 1 had a wonderful morning at the Library on Thursday.  We had a tour of the library, completed a book character treasure hunt and explored lots of beautiful books. A fantastic treat for us all on World Book Day!

Year 2 had a fabulous visit to Carymoor and a few days later we were lucky enough to have Gary from Carymoor visit the school to give a whole school assembly 'Talking Rubbish' and then workshops to our Year 3 and 4s on wasting less and recycling more. 

Year 5 were treated to an immersive Space experience on Monday when they were visited by Jo from Space Detectives. The children were involved in learning all about how the Solar system was formed as well as a practical activity where they made planets move into orbit. They finally created their own...

Children from Years 5 & 6 took part in the local athletics competition at Westfield, where they participated in running, jumping and throwing events. It was a great competition, and they all performed brilliantly! Well done Oaklands...
