Year 2 Trip to Carymoor

Year 2 went on a school trip to Carymoor, where we learned about the three R’s: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.

The children made paper parrot planters using newspaper. Once the parrots were completed, they added soil and planted cress seeds.  In school, we have been learning about plants as part of our Science topic, so the children shared some great ideas about how they would look after their plants.

During the day, the children took part in a range of activities, including a relay game where they had to correctly sort materials into the appropriate recycling bins.

We also looked at packaging from the 1970s to the 2020s and discussed the differences. Later, we enjoyed a walk around the site.

The children had a fabulous day and loved sharing their experiences with each other. Well done Crickets and Caterpillars!
